Barcelona Regional is a public institution dedicated to strategic urban, environmental and infrastructural planning, established on the accumulated experience of the urban transformation underwent by the city of Barcelona for the Olympic Games in 1992. Formed under the leadership of Barcelona’s City Council, the Metropolitan Government and along with the participation of other public shareholders has centered on large-scale projects that have transformed the city.
The metropolitan area Brabantstad covers 2.5 million inhabitants. Consists of five main cities where Tilburg is frontrunner in coping with the challenge on social inclusive mobility policy. Recently, the government assigned a dedicated administrative task to explore the relation between mobility solutions as an important vehicle to diminish social exclusion of vulnerable groups in society. Both mobility policy as well as policy in the social domain are kept responsible for solving the problem.
Nextbike is one of the world’s first bike-sharing companies, founded in 2004. The Municipality of Ancona is a medium-sized city on the northern Adriatic coast of Italy, capital city of the Marche Region, with 100.696 inhabitants and a territory of 124,8 Km2. The City Department for Social Policies is very active in promoting the development of services in favour of all citizens’ needs with focus on disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
myCicero is the most widespread mobile payment platform in Italy since 2013, which has inherited Pluservice’s know-how (mother company). It supports almost 2 million users during all their journey phases: from searching and paying the closest parking area to planning travel by public transport and purchasing and validating the ticket, also integrating bike sharing, shuttles, taxis and tourist services.
The Flemish Department of Mobility and Public Works (DMOW) is responsible for creating a long-term vision on sustainable mobility in the Flemish region of Belgium, for monitoring and implementing the regional mobility policy. Furthermore the department supports the management and exploitation of the Flemish transport and port infrastructure and plays a co-ordinating role in following-up the European transport policy.
